Okay, so here’s my experience of remaking a PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag, original order.
I got this idea to remake a bag, you know, giving an old favorite a new life. I had this PRADA Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag, and I thought, “Why not?” So I decided to change it into something different, something totally new. I did not want to buy a new bag.
First, I checked out the official PRADA online store. I just wanted to see what’s new, maybe get some inspiration. Their Galleria bag is like, a big deal, you know, with its Italian craftsmanship. I did not plan to buy it. I just want to get some inspirations and check its structure. They have a lot of different bags.
Then, I started looking into bag remake. It’s all about taking a bag you’ve loved for years and making it into something fresh. I found this place, LEATHER工房YANAI, that does brand bag remakes. It’s not as intimidating as it sounds, turning your bag into a custom piece, you know? They had done a Burberry bag remake and some Louis Vuitton stuff too. I can also get some ideas from there. I took a note.
I also discovered PRADA’s re-edition bags from 2000-2005. They’re like, modern versions of their classic bags. Pretty cool, right? I saw that many people do this to give their bags a new look.
- I gathered all the info I needed.
- I sketched out some ideas.
- I was thinking, maybe a backpack, a shoulder bag, or even something totally wild, like a stole. I found that some guys did it from a leather coat!
There are also some shops where you can bring your own clothes for remakes, even in places like Shimokitazawa where they’re making new clothes from old ones. And you can even go to a shop and talk about it.
Making It Happen
So, I dove in. I took my PRADA bag and carefully started the remake process. It wasn’t easy, to be honest. It took time, patience, and a lot of careful work. But it was fun! It’s amazing to see how these things are made. I tried to make it lighter. I really like lightweight design.
And guess what? I did it! I turned my old PRADA Galleria bag into something completely new and unique. It’s not just a bag anymore; it’s a piece of my own creation. It’s like, a new chapter for the bag, and for me too. The new bag is totally different from the old one. I am very happy with it.
This whole experience taught me a lot. It’s not just about having a “new” bag. It’s about creativity, sustainability, and giving something you love a second life. Plus, it’s way more affordable than buying a new designer bag, haha! It is a very interesting experience. If I have another chance, I will try to remake another bag.
